Bali, I am in love. Pura Tirta Empul Temple

Recently, in my private life we had been going through a pretty difficult ordeal. I was suffering from burnout and working way too much. My husband made the call that we organise a trip and Bali was the destination.

We had so many mixed reviews, some hard NOs and some absolute YESs, but we like to make up our own mind and give everything a chance to either disappoint us or completely blow our mind.

Well… Bali, I am in love!

Let me tell you WOW.

What a place. What a culture. What an incredible group of people.

First we stayed in Sanur. The vibe was so relaxed, the energy so gentle. For the first time in a long time, I felt real peace. We slept in, rode bicycles, ate so much delicious food and spent our days swimming and just being.

While we were there, as socials do, I was flooded with “things to do in Bali” and had friends messaging me about their experiences. One place kept coming up. Bali Pura Tirta Empul Temple. A temple dating back to the 10th century, known for its sacred water purification ritual, built around a natural spring believed to be spiritually cleansing.

I will be honest, I did not know what to expect. Part of me was curious, part of me was skeptical and part of me just felt called.

So we went.

Water Blessing and Tribute

And I can honestly say it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life.

Standing there, moving through each fountain, you are not just washing your body, you are releasing something deeper. It is quiet, it is humbling and it is incredibly grounding. There is a sense of respect in the air from locals, from visitors and from the space itself. Even the fact I am Greek Orthodox is higlhy valued and encouraged.

You do not need to be Hindu to feel it. You do not need to understand it fully.

You just feel it.

And for me, in that moment, after everything I had been carrying, it felt like a reset. Like something heavy had finally lifted and washed away never to return.

Bali did not just give me a holiday.

It gave me space to breathe again.

In my next blog post, I will explain the event iteself from start to finish. What we did, how we did it and the guide that helped us do it properly.

God Bless and lots of love,

Cat
